ST MATTHEW MEN'S CLUB TEEN FOR THE MONTH OF MAY
On Mother’s Day, an extra special day for the Teen of the Month program, the May award went to twins, Angela and Christina Muller, second and third oldest of eight children of Michael and Linda Muller. The girls are graduating eight graders of St. Matthew School and current nominees for the national junior honor society. Both girls are very active in our school, parish and community. In school, the girls can be found singing in the choir, helping at the Halloween Carnival, serving at the school masses, forming a neighborhood food drive, and participating in the jogging for Josh Run.
In our parish, the girls are very active in the T.A.G. Middle School Youth Group and help stuff Christmas stockings for El Carmen, make Easter baskets for St. Vincent de Paul, help in the Parish Festival, Ministry Fair, Breakfast With Santa, performing in God's Cast, singing for the senior center, help raise funds for the Super Bowl of Caring, fill the bus and God's Army. The girls also serve on the Youth Group Leadership Committee, are members of the T.A.G. Core Group, are Altar Servers, volunteer at Vacation Bible School and recently made over forty five handmade rosaries for the parish's past Family Retreat.
In the community, the two can be found at the Dwyer Avenue Shelter helping prepare food and serve food or at the food bank assisting in sorting and stocking. If you see the girls with short hair this summer, it is because they have been donating their hair to the locks of love program since they were in the fourth grade. Their hobbies include swimming, badminton, archery, piano and singing. They plan to attend Antonian High School in the fall.
Msgr. Yarbrough presented the checks and certificates on behalf of the Holy Name Society, Men's Club. The Holy Name Society, Men's Club invites all men of faith to join. For more information, contact Roy wonder, 492 5747.

UPCOMING EVENTS
September 12th – All High School Religious Education Classes start (to include RCIA and Confirmation).
September 22nd – 40 Days of Life begins – This is a focused pro-life campaign that has generated measurable lifesaving results in more than 130 cities where it has been implemented. Some locations have reported as much as a 28% drop in local abortion numbers and hundreds of new people getting involved in local life saving ministry efforts. During this time, our community will be uniting with dozens of other cities across America – and around the world – for the largest and longest coordinated pro-life mobilization in history – the 40 Days of Life Campaign. People of faith are praying that this effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion. Join us! We will be saying the Rosary every Sunday by the Right to Life Monument by the Parish Hall after the 11 AM Mass from September 26th to October 31st.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS!!! MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND THE HIGH SCHOOL FALL RETREAT!!! The High School Fall Retreat is scheduled for the weekend of 8-10 October at TECABOCA (otherwise known as “Heaven on Earth”) which is located off of IH-10W, approximately 20 miles past Kerrville. The High School Student team and adults who work with the retreat team are already planning a spiritually enhancing and fun filled weekend for the retreatants. The High School Retreats are designed to help the students to nurture a closer relationship with their God, and to help them become more aware of what it means to lead truly Christian lives. Leave your hectic schedule behind for a weekend and join with other Catholic Christian teens for a weekend of fellowship and Fun!!!
Registration forms can be picked up at the Administration building or downloaded by clicking here.
