The High School Religious Education program is in need of catechists (teachers) for school year 2010-2011. We are in need of at least 2 more confirmation teachers. We are also looking for substitute teachers and people who can help Michelle on Sundays. We provide all the materials you need to share your gift. What does a catechist do? Catechists share the teachings of Jesus Christ, but also help our Youth to become the type of people the Lord intended them to be by helping them to learn more about their faith and deepening relationship with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The rewards are numerous and a deep satisfaction is gained from nurturing these young people in their journey of faith. Classes will begin September 12th. THEOLOGY OF THE BODY FOR TEENS
The High School Religious Education Program will be offering “Theology of the Body for Teens” this year for all Juniors and Seniors who have been confirmed. This class will help teenagers to discover God’s plan for love and for life. This class helps bring Pope John Paul II’s landmark teaching known as the Theology of the Body to our teens in such a way that engages their minds and their hearts. The curriculum is both catechetical and evangelistic. Theology of the Body for teens is not a list of rules, but a map that answers questions like: Who am I?, What is my purpose in life?, How can I find true happiness here on earth? This class will be offered on Sunday evenings from 7:15 – 8:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria starting September 26th. Classes will meet at least once a month, sometimes twice a month. RELIGIOUS ED CLASSES
THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY CONFIRMATION CANDIDATE/PARENT MEETING ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH AT 7:15 P.M. IN THE GYM. PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND. Any Juniors or Seniors who have not yet been confirmed can also register for Confirmation classes. There will also be a Freshman and Junior/Senior class available. Call Michelle at 478-5011 if you have any questions in the meantime.

September 19 – Parent/Candidate Meeting in the Gym for all Confirmation Candidates. Freshman classes will meet in their regular classes and Theology of the Body will be off this day.
