RELIGIOUS ED CLASSES
This week and next week,
the young people of the parish who are preparing for
Confirmation reflected on the importance of gathering for the
Church community. The act of gathering joins us to the
Church, the Body of Christ, and allows us to enter into the
saving work of Jesus. How do we as a parish come together
to pray and celebrate our unity in Christ?

Confirmation
- DATES AND
INFORMATION
This week your confirmation
candidates are preparing for Confirmation by
reflecting on the meaning of God’s gift of peace and
its expression in the Church’s liturgy. We are
given the gift of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of
Peace, who empowers us to be instruments of peace
and reconciliation. How are we as a parish living
as peacemakers?

UPCOMING EVENTS
If
you never get
involved - You'll never know the fun you're missing.
|
TAKE TIME FOR GOD
So many times we get so caught up in
our lives that we forget just who it is that has
given us everything we need to be thankful for. In
her book “One Minute Praises” by Darlene McCarty,
she states “Be careful when everything seems to be
spiraling upward as if nothing could go wrong.
Remember from where you came. Let’s not forget who
gave you breath and the strength to work. Satan
will temp you with a small voice saying, “Who do you
need God right now? Look where you have come from
and how hard you have worked to get where you are.
You deserve a day at the lake with the family. I
know it’s Sunday, but he’ll understand this once.
Before long, you find yourself only going to church
on Easter, Mother’s Day and Christmas. What
happened? Pride set in. You thought you were able
to control everything around you and that your
success was within your own power to dictate. But
one day, unexpectedly your world falls apart.”
Don’t forget to take time out each week, especially
during Lent, to spend with God in prayer. Take time
to be a part of his church, do things for your
community, give back for all the blessings you have
been given. In the end, it will be the church and
your church family that will always be there for
you, in good times and in bad.
